2011 November/December Class Schedule

Holiday Class Information and Signup Instructions

 

Class schedule is attached.

Some classes are in the Greenhouse behind the Market; some classes are in the Farmhouse Kitchen.

Classes in the farmhouse kitchen are limited to 10 people.

Classes in the greenhouse are limited to 25 people.

Must register in advance and payment is expected at the time of registration.  Your        prompt payment secures your spot.  Cash, check or credit card (MC, VISA or        Discover) are acceptable forms of payment.

Classes begin promptly at 10 am …Please be on time.

Allow until 1 pm for the cooking classes…that means   10am – 1pm

Allow until 2 pm for the greenery classes... that means  10am – 2 pm.

For the class to go forward at least 5 people must sign up for the offered class.

All class prices include the supplies for that class and the refreshments that will be          served.

For the greenery classes, bringing your own clippers will be helpful.  Please label these   clippers with your name.  Also, bring your own thin gloves if you are allergic to greenery.

For the greenery classes we will be meeting in the greenhouse as noted.  Although the    greenhouse is heated we suggest that you dress in layers and wear  comfortable   shoes and socks.

This is a time of adult interaction.  For the comfort and enjoyment of all participants, we ask that no children or pets accompany you to your class.  Thanks for your consideration.

Much thought and preparation have gone into these class offerings.  Come to the farm and let us help you prepare for a holiday season filled with homemade, handmade and delicious.  We hope that you will find something here that suits your fancy.

2011 Fall Classes

November 1     Keepsake Kissing Ball      $40.00

Create and Construct a kissing ball from live greenery.  All supplies provided.  Learn how to make a perfect bow.  Leave with a finished project.  Refreshments served and recipes shared.  Meet in the Greenhouse behind the Market.

November 3     Tabletop Centerpiece     $40.00

Create and construct your own holiday centerpiece.  Live assorted greenery encircles a glass globe and candle.  Learn basic greenery techniques and how to make a bow.  Refreshments served and recipes shared.  Leave with a finished project.  Meet in the Greenhouse behind the Market.

November 5     Gifts from the Kithchen     $40.00

A class centered around the theme of making your own gifts from the kitchen -- gifts that really are good to eat and good to give as a gift.  Will cover a variety of recipes from sweet to savory.  Demonstration, tasting and some samples to take home.  Only 10 seats available.  Meet in the Farmhouse Kitchen.

November 10     Fresh Green Wreath for your Doorway     $40.00

Basic wreathmaking 101 being taught.  Construct a fresh wreath from traditional greenery.  Learn how to make a bow.  Refreshments served and recipes shared.  Leave with a finished wreath.  Meet in the Greenhouse behind the Market.

November 12     November Cooking Class     $40.00

Come gather in the Farmhouse Kitchen for a cooking class focused on Holiday Sides.  Come taste some new ideas for a few appetizers and some side dishes.  Class will be taught in demonstration fashion.  Tastings and recipes shared.  Only 10 seats available for this class.

November 15     November Cooking Class     $40.00

November 17     Tabletop Boxwood Tree     $45.00

Create and construct a small live boxwood tree perfect for tabletop display.  Learn some basic greenery techniques.  Leave with a  finished project.  Refreshments served and recipes shared.  Meet in the Greenhouse behind the Market.

November 19     Fresh Green Wreath for your Doorway

Greenhouse and class have been booked by ladies from Northern Va.  No openings available for class on this date.

November 29     Scents of the Season     $45.00

Class centered around the "scents" of the Christmas Season -- including peppermint,   citrus, rosemary, cinnamon, bay -- just to name a few.  Our projects will include small wreaths, pomanders, cinnamon ornaments and easy food gifts -- just to name a few.  Refreshments served and recipes shared.  Meet you in the Greenhouse behind the Market.

Create and construct a fresh table top centerpiece combining greenery with seasonal fruit and nuts centered around a pillar candle.  This centerpiece is surely reminiscent of a favorite Williamsburg Style.  Leave with a finished project.  Refreshments served and recipes shared.  Meet you in the Greenhouse behind the Market.
